A warm welcome to you, yet another issue of this magazine, sprung out of the appreciation we feel towards the creative work produced on this old machine. It is, computerwise, an ancient heart thumping, but it does keep the rythm good, and it does so to keep the blue light lit.

Last time I wrote the preface of Vandalism News my c64 was still in boxes after my move to Odense in Denmark. Now it is resurrected and has moved onto an antique secretaire next to the writing desk. A 200 year old piece of furniture makes yet another contrast, in which the contemporary digital society is on the one side of things. Bearing in mind that much of todays online communication has emerged after the c64, makes both the ancient and the antique produce of somewhere else. Not a better time, but a different one.

Lets make a leap from philosophy to politics. Issue forty nine brings you partyreports from the recent events in scenetown: Breakpoint, Oxyron 15 Years, Forever and a bizarre one from St.Lars. The Awards by Jazzcat, myself and ZZAP69 takes off from X last autumn and covers up until now. Who will be awarded, and why? It proved a hot topic to debate! I have also interviewed ZZAP69, and it should include quite a surprise or two for some. World of Demos by Wrath Designs is deconstruction at high altitude, important for growth and aestethical evolution.

There is more, but as I am in the middle of a zombie-session studying for my exams I leave the rest to be introduced by my fellow colleague over in Launceton, Tasmania. In fact, my time is so short at the moment that I have to wait to unpack my newly purchased Prophet64 (fresh developed hardware sold from Sweden in 2007!) until after June 18th. This means I will have something to drivel about in the next editorial, though. Now, over to the guy that hopes to find some c64 time in the midst of celebrating his son's 2nd birthday :).

Until next issue.
